1968 Barracuda

Narrowly escaping the crusher, this 1968 Barracuda is a shining example of a little determination and a lot of elbow grease.

In 1992, Kevin Moe purchased the car from a local auto body repair shop who had been using the car as a promotion. They fixed half of the car to demonstrate their services. With one half red and one half painted gold, Kevin bought the car for his wife because she wanted a fast back 'cuda.

A few years later, they divorced and the car went with her. But, everybody needs a friend like Joe Webster. Joe bought the car back from Kevin's ex-wife and gave it back to him with one condition; finish the car.

Updates include a new quarter panel, 360 Engine with ISKY Cam Shafts, 727 Transmission, Red Rock Clutch, Hugh 350 Stall Converter, 8 3/4 rear end, 391 Posi, Victor Jr. Intake, 340 J Heads, and 26" rear tires wrapped around Crager rims. The new coat of paint is a custom mix closely resembling Chrysler Plum. The interior is black and purple with custom 'Cuda logos on the door panels.

Total restoration cost was approximately $20K and couldn't been done without the help from Gary Swann, Roger ("Uncle") Swann, Jeff and Cindy Morgan , Pat Neil and Joe Webster and with the sponsorship of B&K Transmissions, Pat Neil and Jeff Morgan.

Likes Being First

At a car show at Little Anthony's in Tucson , took 1st place the first time out. In the first race at Firebird, Kevin took 1st place in the street class. After SIR reopened, he took 1st place in street class the first time on that track in addition to several other wins at SIR.

In a 2000 B&M sponsored race, Kevin beat the Street Class World Champion. Not too bad for a car that still has factory seat belts. When Kevin first took the car out to Firebird, he was hoping for a high 14 run and surprised when he hit a 14.0 on the first run. After some minor tuning, he runs a 13.5 consistently. In 2005, the car was sold to the Assistant Pastor of Calvary Chapel Troy Stokoe. If you're lucky, you can see it occassionally at the church on Sundays.

Kevin wanted to express his gratitude and appreciation to his friends and sponsorships, he would have not been able to do it without them. Kevin is currently working on two new projects that we hope to feature here in the near future; a big block Duster and a Ford Mustang .
