Where can I find the laws so that I know I am street legal?

You know "Big Brother" is watching all of us, and in their most attempts to appease all they have to set rules to govern those who may just be trying to have a little fun. We all know the basic driving principles - at least we had to know them once when we first took our driving tests. Use your turn signals, stop at stop signs, proceed to the right for emergency vehicles, etc. What about this one, " No person shall operate a motor vehicle in such a manner which creates the squealing of tires in the roadway." (Pima County Code: Ord. 1999-61 § 1 (part), 1999) Bummer!

In the State of Arizona , you will need to refer to Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 28 - Transportation. Chapter 3 refers to the operation of your vehicle and specific enhancements and equipment laws start with Article 16.

Unfortunately, this information may not be specific enough to tell you the local regulations that are in addition to state guidelines. Depending on the structure of the regional government, you will need to look for the County or City Code.
